ITE (60950-1) Power Supply AC Adapter European National and CB certifications upgraded to include revision A12:2011 of IEC/EN60950-1 for European Union applications by Nemko, model series GT-21089-T2 and -T3(A)

Continuing to pursue its commitment to quality products and service, GlobTek, a world-class provider of power supplies and power electronic solutions, now has upgraded CB and Nemko certificates and reports for ITE (60950-1) power supply ac adapter series GT-21089-T2 and -T3(A) Series to latest European and International national standard IEC 60601-1:2005 (3rd Edition) and/or EN 60601-1:2006 + A11:2011 and EN 60601-1:2006 + A11:2011 standards. Nemko Certification, a European national certification mark, is required for demonstrating CE compliance for Switching power supplies.

The miniature ITE (60950-1) universal input switching power supply model GT-21089-T2 and -T3(A) is available in Class II, 2 Prong, IEC 60320/C8 appliance inlet or Class I, 3 prong, IEC60320/C14 or /C6 Desktop external configurations.

The Grounded configurations utilize functional/protective earth for enhanced EMI suppression and safety purposes and can be configured up to 4 standard ways. The units have Functional Earth classification with UL and Protective earth classification with European certifications allowing for additional flexibility in end system certification. The standard configuration, option 1, is to have the Functional/protective earth ground connected to the output common of the switching power supply. This configuration is most popular and provides earth ground to the system for safety and EMI purposes. Option 2 is a variation of the option 1 standard configuration but with an additionally grounded output connector shell or 3rd conductor/contact tied to the input earth ground of the power supply. This configuration requires the use of a 3 pin/pole connector such as snap and lock KPPX-3, KPPX-4P, or any miniDIN or DIN connector (most of which are assembled or overmolded inhouse). Option 3 provides for an isolated common from earth ground through a capacitor. Option 4 provides for an isolated common from earth ground through a capacitor and output connector shell or 3rd conductor/contact tied to the input earth ground of the power supply.

The tiny ITE (60950-1) power supply has an input from 90-264VAC 50-60Hz and a factory configurable output of 5VDC to 48VDC output with a max power of 18W continuous output and is produced in an ISO13485, ISO9001, and ISO14001 certified facility.

This power supply can be modified to meet the 2KV or higher IEC61000-4-5 Surge requirement which is has immunity against input voltages transients caused by lightning strikes and/or load switching in the AC power grid.

This Family features Regulated output with very low ripple, Built-in over current, Short circuit, Over current, and thermal protection as well as low leakage, low ripple, and high efficiency. The product is suitable for most applications requiring DC power and common applications include medical devices, portable medical treatment and monitoring equipment and instruments, Hospital equipment and fixtures, equipment, and as a power source for Li-Ion battery chargers.

Ruggedized IP52 version available upon request. According to BS EN 60529 and IEC 529, IP52 signifies that the medical (60601-1) power supply is Protected against dust - limited ingress (no harmful deposit) as well as Protected against direct sprays of water up to 15 deg from the vertical. They also comply with Canadian Nrcan efficiency requirements as well as FCC/VCC/CE emc requirements.
